Bellotto, The Canaletto of The European Courts – Veneto

 

When: Now until 15th April 2012.  The magnificent 16th century Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano Veneto hosts this unique exhibition dedicated to Bernardo Bellotto (1721 – 1780), one of the masters of vedutismo veneziano (Venetian views paintings), who was a nephew of Canaletto. On show are 40 masterpieces that show the creative evolution of the Venetian painter marking the fundamental stages of his career with paintings of not only of Venice, but also of Florence, Lucca, Rome, Milan, Turin, Verona and also of European cities such as Dresden, Vienna, Monaco and Warsaw.
