Two Greedy Italians

Two Greedy Italians

Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo, better known as the Two Greedy Italians from their tv series earlier this year, loved the region of Emilia Romagna for all sorts of reasons, filming their first show there, extolling the virtue of the region’s gastronomy which is some of the finest in Italy.

But Emilia Romagna is not just home to parma ham and parmesan cheese, and playing host to Two Greedy Italians

Visit in April and make your way to Vignola in the province of Modena and you will find one of the most important Food Festivals in Italy.  Named the Cherry Tree Festival, it stands to reason that it is celebrating the production of its outstanding cherry trees.  It is here you will find the beginning of the so-called Food and Wine Trail and a Renaissance town in the Po plain.

During the Festival the entire town is “blooming-cherry-trees” themed with events, concerts, exhibitions, peculiar Restaurants menus, tasting sessions and related activities to enjoy. The costume parade, which is set in the 16th century, is the most important event that celebrates the blossoming of cherry trees.

If you want to experience the ‘Genuine Secrets of Romagna’ and see it as the Two Greedy Italians did, you can join Max & Molly on one of their 2012 Food & Wine Tours (next one 27th April).  Eat and drink your way around the region sampling only the very finest.
