Lakes and Mountains

The lakes of the North, at the foot of the majestical mountain chain of the Alps, are mainly of glacial origin. Among these are Lake Garda (the largest lake in Italy), Lake Como (the deepest), Lake Maggiore, Lake Iseo and Lake Orta. The environment around these lakes is mostly alpine, and is ideal for winter holidays, thanks to the soothing action of the waters and the presence of the mountains.
Lake Garda (or Benaco) is the largest Italian lake and is 144 km in circumference. To the south it is broad and without surrounding mountains, whereas in the north it is like a harbor, closed in by mountains.
Famous for its Mediterranean climate, its blue waters, its abundant vegetation, its attractive villas and gardens, the variety of the landscape, and the efficiency of the tourist services around its shores, Lake Garda permits a long tourist season.
If its mountains your after, then Italy is covered with beautiful rocky backdrops. The Dolomite mountains, which extend across northern Italy are part of the Alps mountain range. The Apennine mountains cut down the center of Italy stretching from north to south, dividing the east and west coasts.

Passion, nature and tradition, here, there is a strong tourist tradition based on many decades of knowledge and experience. Enchanting scenery of solitary mountain peaks and broad meadows also awaits in Veneto, Trentino and Alton Adige.
